Here’s a look at the analysis of John Abraham starrer Ek Villain Returns


Mumbai: In 2022, the two sequels that did really well at the box office were Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2. Box Office. We are talking about Ek Villain Returns starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria.

Ek Villain Returns was a sequel to the 2014 release Ek Villain starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. The first installment was a super hit at the box office with a collection of Rs. 105.62 cr.

The sequel failed to make a mark at the box office. Reportedly, Ek Villain Returns was made on a budget of Rs. 65 crores. It took an opening of Rs. 7.05 crore, and the lifetime collection of the film in India was 41.69 crore nett. The film’s worldwide gross collection was Rs 200 crore. 68.64 That doesn’t even make it a hit.

When Ek Villain was released in 2014, the film received positive reviews and the music created a great buzz before the release, hence it took the box office by storm. Meanwhile, the pre-release buzz around Ek Villain Returns has not been great. Neither the trailer nor the song had caught the attention of the people. So maybe this is the reason why the film failed to make a mark at the box office.

Now, all eyes are on John Abraham starrer Pathan, which is slated to release on 25 January 2023. The film also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
