Birthday boy Sidharth Malhotra will next be seen in the spy thriller Mission Majnu
Over the years, a lot has been said on nepotism and Bollywood’s endorsement of it. Back in 2018, Sidharth, while in conversation with Man’s World magazine had opened up on it. On being asked about his insecurities and challenges as an ‘outsider’ to the industry, the actor had said, “I think even if you’re from a film family, eventually it’s a very performance-based profession. You can’t drive an audience to a theatre based on your family – either people accept you or they don’t.”

He had gone on to add, “I think I can say that after working in the industry for a few years, the accepting phase is over. Now, it’s the performance phase – I need to ensure that my films are getting box-office numbers, and that I choose the right characters to portray, which I will be remembered for.”
According to the star, it is always more to do with one’s script choices than their families, which decide whether an actor becomes a star or not.
