Avatar: The Way of Water is the story of a man who will go to any lengths to keep his family safe. More than a decade has passed since the events of the first film. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are living happily ever after with fellow Na’vi. they are,Parents to elder son Netayam (Jamie Flatters), younger son Lok (Britain Dalton) and daughter Tuktire aka Tuk (Trinity Jo-Lee Bliss). He has adopted Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), who was created from the incarnation of the deceased Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver). All four of these children are good friends with Miles Socorro aka Spider (Jake Champion), the son of Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), the antagonist of the first part and who dies at the end. Although Spider is a human, he spends his time with the sailors and pretends to be like them. All is going well that one day humans aka ‘Sky People’ once again descend on Pandora. Over the course of a year, they build a huge colony, even bigger than the last time they built it. And this time, Miles comes back from the dead. He is resurrected by the RDA (Resource Development Administration) as a Recombinant, i.e. an avatar linked to a human’s memories. Miles’ avatar aims for revenge on Jake Sully and Neytiri. Navi community is causing damage to RDA structures and railway lines. RDA jawans also retaliated. Jake feels it is they who they want to defeat and for this reason, the rest of the Na’vi population should not suffer. So, he and his family leave the Na’vi settlement in the jungle. They travel hundreds of miles to the village of the Metkayina tribe, led by Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) and Ronal (Kate Winslet). This tribe is the ‘reef people’ who worship the sea. Their bodies are more adapted to underwater activities. So, when Jake and his family ask them for asylum, they at first refuse because they feel their bodies are not meant for their lifestyle. But soon, they are allowed to assimilate and they gradually learn the Metkayna way of life. Meanwhile, Miles kidnaps Spider and desperately tries to find out where Jake, Neytiri and their children have fled. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
